On the 25th of April there was a huge earthquake in Nepal. It was 7.9 on the Richter scale!!! Wow, you can’t imagine how strong it was. At least my family is ok.

After it happened my mum called her sister. She was outside her house in Nepal. My mum told her to tell the story so this is how it went:

First she was holding her 1 month old baby called Sahnvi. Her other daughter, who is 4 years old, was downstairs. When the quake started, as I said, she was upstairs with her baby and her other daughter was downstairs. She tried to go downstairs but the stairs were swinging back and forth, the whole house was shaking. Her other daughter downstairs was crying because she was scared.

Finally she came downstairs and took both of them outside into an open space.

Then the quake stopped but the danger wasn’t over. Every 15 minutes the floor started shaking like forever. Two of her daughters cried. She even cried too!

My mum told them to be calm and stay alert. She even said to tell her maids to go slowly inside and make her soup. After that my mum called her parents and told them to go to her sister’s home and stay together.

After a while her husband came and they all slept together in the garage. On the next day my mum called them again. They said that they were fine but were scared of aftershocks.

Let’s see what happens next time!
